These facilities consist of a single basin of simple construction, modified from the existing box-type basin, and are employed in non-continuous processing. Through automatic control using dissolved oxygen wave forms, precise control of the microorganism nitration and denitration action is simple, and when combined with post-coagulation processing, excellent denitrification and dephosphorization performance is achieved, with the electric power cost at about ￥500 per kiloliter.
As these facilities are located at a distance of 15 km from the Nangoku City Hall, telephone circuits and microcomputers (FM-8) are employed to transmit measured wave forms for remote monitoring of facility performance.
